First things first. Or second.

Congratulations! Nothing like a pleasant academic surprise!

Juma is one of the big things I miss here in India. Friday is a working day here like most of the places in the world (and unlike back home), so it takes an effort to go out of the office and go to the nearest mosque -- which is not so near. I know this is only a lame excuse but back home it was weekend and one could take things slow leading up to the prayer. Now if I have to go every Friday, it'll be a big rush -- and that spoils the beauty of it.
I know what you mean about working day. I have to leave work to go to Juma, and usually I have a meeting until 12:30 and then I have to eat lunch. Just like you said, everything is rushed and it's not good for prayer. Today I even hurried back to work because I was afraid someone would notice that I was gone. If the fact that Friday is a working day is no excuse to go to Juma, then I have double the no excuse, since the Muslim Students Association on campus always provides Juma on campus!
Told you so!
